Alfred Martin – Client Strategist / Media Relations Team

Al Martin serves a key consultant on the Impact Team, focusing much of his time and energy on developing media strategy for clients and communicating with journalists. A skilled media trainer, Al is responsible for preparing Impact clients for interviews on a one-on-one basis and also via comprehensive media training workshops delivered in a group setting. In addition, Al works with clients to develop comprehensive media strategy, which has resulting in client placements in consumer outlets including The Wall Street Journal, Marketwatch, Money magazine, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, Thomson Reuters, USA Today and top financial industry-facing media. Al also works with the client Relationship Managers to write and distribute news releases and to develop targeted lists for media outreach. Al’s experience in both consumer marketing and financial communications allows him to merge client strategy with creativity, resulting in programs that both exceed client expectations and catch the media’s attention.
Al has been working in public relations and marketing communications since 1998 and has developed, managed and implemented marketing communications programs for a variety big name consumer brands, including Georgia-Pacific, SC Johnson brands, Wendy’s International and Kaplan Publishing, one of the world’s leading business book publishers. Al holds a BA in Journalism from Arizona State University, an MA in Sociology from DePaul University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Media Studies at the University of Texas at Austin.
In his free time, Al enjoys traveling, museums and binge-watching old television series on DVD. He’ll be enjoying much more of that thanks to his recent New York City relocation.
